David Crowley is running for re-election to the Cincinnati City Council. He has served on the city council for 6 years, and this will be his last term, as term limits apply. Every year he has run for election or re-election, David Crowley has been targeted by the right win because of his staunch support of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender equal rights. He was a key figure in helping to overturn Cincinnati's discriminatory Article XII, which prevented the city from passing a non-discrimination law to protect GLBT citizens. And March 2006, the council passed a non-discrimination law to protect GLBT citizens, and David Crowley was one of the lead sponsors of the legislation.
David Crowley is truly a courageous public servant in southwest Ohio, an area where it's not easy to be a GLBT advocate.
